I stopped by this card shop recently and was honestly pretty disappointed. The selection was solid, and they had a good variety of products, but the pricing completely killed the experience. Almost everything was marked way above MSRP—sometimes to the point where it felt excessive, even compared to typical secondary market prices. I understand that demand can drive prices up, especially in the trading card world, but there’s a difference between fair market adjustment and what felt like outright price gouging. It makes it tough for regular collectors or casual buyers to support the shop when you can find the same items significantly cheaper elsewhere. Customer service was decent, but it’s hard to overlook pricing that feels out of touch with the community. I’d love to support local shops, but there needs to be a balance that doesn’t push customers away.

Posting this review because apparently the moderator of their google account thinks I posted a review under a fake account by someone change Che…that’s not me. I really do like the store, the employees, the variety of product and the atmosphere. Those things aren’t my issue. And actually, their prices on older products seem to be somewhat reasonable or I line with market. Where they lose me is on current, in print sets. I was disappointed to see their prices on the Ascended Heroes booster bundles and ex boxes on release day. I brought my kids in expecting to pick some up. My expectations were to pay above retail, but I thought there would be a better balance between retail and market. To see the bundles at $75 I was a bit disappointed. My understanding was, the price would reflect closer to retail and they would rip the seal for people that intend on opening. But I just could not justify that price tag. Additionally, while the price on perfect order booster boxes were great, the etb, bundles and single packs nowhere closely reflected that favorable proce with single packs being $8.99. I have no issues with this store personally, just simply cannot agree on their pricing strategy as a consumer.
Triangle Area Trading Cards is an elite TCG shop. From their Release nights, gaming, and break events, to trading, grading, and selling, I have always had a great experience. Singles and sealed are priced to TCGPlayer prices and they are always open to negotiation. Trade price has always been a better experience overall than other locations. For example I live almost an hour away and prefer the drive for the value and selection of product over other shops. TATC team has built a solid TCG/SC foundation on which others can look up too. Their table space is unmatched with plenty of seats for trading, opening, playing, and sifting through the categorized bulk from just about every modern era there is XY, sun and moon, etc... There is a nice lounge area with couches and a tv, and the sports cards and memorabilia matches the TCG side of the store and the general area is always kept clean and tidy. Plenty of top loaders, mag, and sleeve products, also a good selection of storage cases and dice. I would recommend stopping here if you intend to purchase play or trade. Well done Triangle Area Trading Cards family.
The store is clean and inviting, has a nice little sitting area for those who want to just relax. I'm the type of person that likes to look through bulk and they have plenty to rifle through which is very nice. My main gripe with this place is the same that I have with some other trading card stores recently, it seems that they have adopted a system in which the only cards they can physically grab for you are the cards in their glass case, even if they have a card in their system, they won't physically grab it unless you go through a convoluted system with their website and TCG affiliate links just to get the cards you know they have... It's really frustrating and I truly despise this business model, it truly reflects the current Gen Z-ification of business. But overall they are all right... friendly staff helps.
One of the best TCG stores around! Solid Magic selection, with more of a focus on Pokemon. Very reasonable selling/trade-in prices (75% of market as credit or 65% as cash). Some of the nicest staff as well! Everyone has been great, but Logan W. helped me get my cards sold quickly and efficiently!
