Capital City Sports Cards

Great atmosphere, great deals, and awesome people to work with. One of my favorite card shops! Pulled some good autos from there!

Reading through some of these reviews is truly baffling to me. Bottom line the service on a Friday afternoon with only a handful of customers in the store was the typical experience you expect when ordering from a fast food restaurant. The younger guy behind the Pokemon counter chilled on his phone while I was looking at singles in front of him. Typical Gen Z service. Likely wasn’t the A team working on a Friday which is kind of surprising. I could get past that honestly if it weren’t for the prices. In a world where collectors get upset at shops selling for market price. Everything in this shop aside from the new Disney chrome was 10-35% above MARKET. Chrome platinum baseball is $220 but $300 in store. Every sports hobby box follows suit. New Pokemon 1st partner series 2 was $28 over market. Follows on every single and box in the shop. I had 1 purpose for coming in. To trade in $760 worth of Topps MVP buybacks. At this point I’ll just deal with the pain of sending them in to Dave and Adam’s or calling some shops even further away in Omaha. There was nothing in the shop worth buying with the trade in money.

DO NOT SELL YOUR CARDS HERE. The best they’ll give you is 50-60% of your cards value. I brought 4 cards in and they were trying to buy them for the price of ONE of my cards. Just straight scamming. Good place to buy boxes/packs tho

Capital City is the best card shop in Nebraska!! The staff is incredibly friendly and make you feel at home the second you walk in. Their prices are truly fair and they will do what they can to make you a great deal! Chris, the owner, is a great guy and cares about every customer and creates a relationship with each one. I recommend Capital City to all of my friends and family. Will always support this great establishment!

Please don't go here. Long story short: I come in with 4 cards, he prices them at a total of $200, best they could give me was $80, didn't sell, still bought a couple boxes, then left a 1 star review for terrible payout. He then STALKS MY GIRLFRIEND AND I on Facebook and Instagram. Messaged us NUMEROUS times to take down the review. Then has the balls to blatantly lie on his response from my review. 1. One of my cards alone was priced at $120 and another at $60 by his employee. 2. WHY THE HELL ARE YOU MESSAGING MY GIRLFRIEND?! 3. Does being burglarized mean I'm not suppose to have an option on your business? I said in my review before it's a good place to buy cards, but I strongly advise anyone to go literally anywhere else. The ownership truly is very, very awful.
